Get ready for the future: Uber will begin to deploy its first fleet of automated cars in Pittsburgh this month. The ride-sharing company has been testing automated cars without passengers in Pittsburgh since the spring. The city’s mayor has approved of the practice, so uber is now ready to add the customers. The new cars will be accessed like normal through the company’s app, but riding in them will be free for now. There will be 100 self-driving Uber cars by the end of the year. All will be modified Volvos with engineers in the front seat, just in case.
